Patricia García (b. 1978, Guadalaraja, Mexico) is one of the
most promising artists of the new generation. After studying
Plastic Arts at University of Guadalaraja, which laid the
foundation for her multidisciplinary approach including oil
painting, acrylics, graphite, and pencil, she pursued
additional studies in engraving and ceramics. Her practice
delves into alchemy, transformation, and symbolic storytelling.
Working in a distinctive style often described as figurativa
fantástica, she merges surrealism with personal mythology,
drawing inspiration from artists such as Remedios Varo and
Leonora Carrington.
Her works are inhabited by playful, distorted figures and
layered symbols that channel the subconscious and the
spiritual.
Her art is held in the permanent collections of the
National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago, Televisa, the
Universidad de Guadalajara, as well as numerous
international and private collections. -
