A graduate of the Fine Arts programs at Panthéon-Sorbonne and Paris Dauphine, Anne Commet creates work rooted in the observation of everyday life and explores what we retain from ordinary moments—moments we’ve lived through and felt. She is interested in how ordinary things affect us and what we retain from the moments we have lived through. She uses painting, photography, and video as tools to explore memory, landscape, and sensation. For her, these elements are spaces where lived experience overlaps and leaves traces. Her work is based on processes related to contact, imprint, and disappearance, such as monotype and transfer. Through these, she engages with presence and absence, surface and depth, image and trace. Her work does not seek to represent the world, but rather to reveal its sensory remnants and the subtle forms of experience. Without hierarchy or chronology, Anne Commet assembles fragments of images and perceptions. She creates open spaces where the viewer is invited to chart their own path. Video extends this exploration, conceived as a painting in motion.

Her work has been exhibited in France and abroad, notably at the Loop Festival, the Beaux-Arts de Porto, the Guoyi Art Museum, as well as at Galerie Sono and See Galerie in Paris. Her works are included in the collection of the LAccolade Foundation and have been selected for the “1 building, 1 artwork” program of Vinci Immobilier in 2018 and 2023.
