"He leaves behind the night and the noise and sets off in search of silence, light, and no doubt a little bit of his childhood. The photographer walks along the coast, strides across beaches, and uses his framing to construct windows that are like escape routes. (...) For Sabatina Leccia, embroidery is an intimate legacy passed down by her grandmothers. She has gradually transformed, enriched, and modernized this skill by working as an embroiderer for major fashion houses such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Balenciaga. Today, it is in her artistic practice, combining photography, paper, and textiles, that this ancestral art finds new resonance. With a needle, she works manually on her pieces, emphasizing the material, the light, the slow gesture—a form of gentle resistance.
Since 2015, Sabatina has been composing hybrid works, combining drawing, textiles, and photography, which evoke sensitive and contemplative interior landscapes. Her creations invite us to slow down and look at things differently. They impose nothing, describe nothing: they leave room for dreams. Is it a cloud, a rock, the seabed, or a mountain? It doesn't matter. The essential lies elsewhere, in the poetic space they open up for the viewer. This work is an invitation to reconnect with gentleness, silence, and the evocative power of gesture that allows us to feel the breath of a landscape."
