The exhibition brings together a broad selection of photographs spanning Doisneau's extraordinary career. Together, they reveal an artist whose compassion for humanity was every bit as important as his mastery of the camera.
Paolo Ventura envisions Paris as a city suspended between reality and fiction, memory and dream. His Paris is melancholic: a stage of deserted streets, shadowy figures, secret lives, and chance encounters, where the ordinary becomes magical and the night opens the door to imagination.
